What should I have with me on my Stoneman tour?
A minimum amount of equipment is strongly recommended. Spare tube, tire levers, pump and minitool are recommended on every tour, especially for a special experience like the Stoneman. Valve inserts, a chain riveter and a spare chain can also save you time and nerves in an emergency.
If you are missing something in terms of equipment, look at BIKE24, the partner we trust. Also think of yourself – you should have enough water and small energy sources with you.
Does the Taurista MTB have a luggage transfer?
Of course!
The special feature of the Stoneman Taurista is that the course encloses a valley, to which you are led back after each summit reached. Here the Ennsradweg in the radius of the circuit offers an ideal transfer route to return comfortably and without additional altitude to your accommodation. If you still prefer the ride from hotel to hotel, a luggage transfer can be realized via one of the local cab companies.

What is the best way to divide my stages at the Taurista MTB?
Each Stoneman represents a perfectly designated circuit that highlights the cultural and scenic highlights of the region. You have the free choice how to divide your Stoneman.

The Stoneman is optimally signposted and marked at all times. However, if you don’t want to ride alone or gain new insights, you can also tackle your Stoneman adventure together with a guide.

How good do I need to be to ride the Stoneman Taurista MTB?
The Stoneman runs along a scenically beautiful route. The trail sections, root and stone passages are doable – but require a minimum of bike control. In case of doubt, difficult passages can be bypassed or pushed in an emergency. As far as endurance is concerned: The Stoneman is not a race, but your individual challenge. The bronze tour over three days is also well manageable for motivated occasional riders – or for all those for whom the adventure and the landscape experience is in the foreground.

How do I plan my Stoneman Taurista MTB stages?
Since the route is a circuit, you can choose your stages and your starting point, as it suits you best.

After the tour
Can I try on the jersey or exchange it?
Currently, the jersey is available exclusively in our online store, which unfortunately excludes a fitting before purchase.
The jerseys are sporty tight – if you are between two sizes, the larger is recommended. By the way: If the jersey does not fit, we can also exchange standard jerseys. When exchanging a customized jersey, a service fee will be charged. If this should occur, simply write to us at hello@stoneman.bike.

Gold, silver or bronze? 1, 2 or 3 days?
Each Stoneman lasts 1 to 3 days – we call that gold, silver and bronze.
Decide for yourself whether you pull through the route in one day, take three days for the nature experience, or choose the middle ground and drive two days.
By the way: If you notice during your ride that you have taken on too much or too little, you can also change the category in between. For example, from gold to silver – or the other way around!
Just let your issuing office know.

When is the best time for the Stoneman?
The Stoneman season is deliberately set so that you can enjoy this unique nature experience to the fullest. At the same time, each season has its own highlights to offer.
So the season on the Stoneman Taurista goes in consultation with the forest and conservation offices from June 10 to September 26 . Outside of this period, riding on the Stoneman is not possible.
It is crucial that you stay on the Stoneman route during the sunny hours to give the beautiful flora & fauna along the route space to rest at night. From June to August you have the most time for your Stoneman, during these months the daily sunshine duration is over 13 hours.

How does the process work with the starter package?
With the reservation we guarantee the availability of your starter package on the specified start date – either at a public distribution point or at your accommodation partner.
On site you can pick up your starter package on the day before (from 4 pm) of the tour – on presentation of the reservation form also those of your team riders.
If the pickup is not possible for any reason, it is best to contact your planned distribution point directly.

Where do I hand in my starter card on Sundays and public holidays?
Basically, the delivery of the Stoneman starter card takes place where you received it, so at your Logis partner or your official issuing office.
The respective opening hours you will find under Overnight stay and at the official issuing offices. If you are dropping off outside of opening hours, please contact your drop-off location in advance.

The Stoneman bike trails are basically designed for mountain bikes.
Ideally, you drive a tour-ready MTB with which you are well acquainted. For very experienced riders, the dry trails are also passable with the gravel bike.

Do I have to stay with one of the Logis partners or can I also book individually?
The Stoneman is a promise of quality – as such, our official lodging partners meet various criteria that meet your requirements as a biker and make your Stoneman experience especially immersive this way. At the same time, completing the Stoneman Challenge this way is the most convenient, as you will receive both your starter pack and your trophy directly at your accommodation.

Where do I get the starter pack and my trophy?
The Stoneman begins and ends at the place of issue of your starter package: Either directly at your Logis partner or at one of the participating tourist information offices. Where can I find fellow riders who would accompany me on my Stoneman experience?
The Stoneman is a unique experience whose breathtaking scenery is revealed to you both alone and in company. If you prefer to travel in company, you can also take part in a guided tour.
Before the Tour
Is the route signposted, do I need the GPS data?
The entire route of the Stoneman is extensively signposted.
Before and after each intersection you will find a corresponding directional note. In addition, there are longer straight stretches after each intersection another indication that confirms you in the direction. Especially for Gold riders we recommend the additional use of the GPS track, so that you can fully enjoy the Stoneman flow without unwanted stops. You will always receive the current GPX track by mail three days before your start. You can use either GPS devices or apps that work offline after downloading the map section, for example Maps.me or HereWeGo.

Can I ride the Stoneman Taurista on an e-bike?
Each Stoneman stands for a carefully planned route that takes you along cultural and scenic highlights. This makes the Stoneman also attractive for you and your e-bike! You are also entitled to the trophy with a natural-colored stone. To remain fair to your non-motorized fellow riders and fellow riders, your entry on the finisher list will receive a small lightning bolt as an addition.

Can I also run the Stoneman?
After purchasing the starter package, you can also follow the GPS data and signage on foot. For example, ultra runs have already taken place on the Stoneman MTB routes.
As the Stoneman Taurista was developed as a mountain bike route, you will of course also meet many bikers who drive past you during normal operation. Nevertheless, you can also enjoy the full beauty of the scenery.
